This mid century solid teak and glass cabinet was such a lovely find! It has been refinished and up-cycled with my own hand painted abstract ‘leopard in the moonlight’ artwork on a textured background, on one door (palette - black, golds, blush pink, bronze).

On the glass door, it has also been hand painted with a moon and a lead strip outline was applied for a stained glass window effect. Two coats of resin were then applied to that artwork to create a glass like shine.

The little handle has had a hammered metal effect created, then covered with gold leaf, a faux patina, then a resin glaze was applied. It’s a really cool looking piece, as well as being practical. It has removable shelves (one each side) with 3 variable height positions to place them in.

The inside back piece has several coats of gold wax applied as I want to create a nice soft sheen that gently glows through the moon giving it a slightly yellow tinge. It is an eye catching, one-off statement piece, that’d look fab in someone’s home :-). It’s also a great size, hence saying cabinet / sideboard.
