Mid Century Moth Record / Cocktail Cabinet (with coloured lights)

This cabinet is such a gorgeous shape, with its original 1950s tapered legs, door knobs and slightly bow fronted doors.
It has my own hand painted Eyed Hawk Moth design to both doors extending around the sides, as you’ll see from the pictures (I’ve also included a ‘before’ pic, to show the transformation). On the video, please excuse the flickering from the lights due to the refresh rate of the camera, this does not happen when viewing with the naked eye.
I wanted to create beauty and interest from all angles, hence the moths being placed on both edges. So from the front it creates a lovely pattern in the black space, and from the sides when the doors are open it creates a complete moth as well as a complete moth when viewing it from both front corners. Both moths have been hand painted using a sponge and stippling technique, and the finer details were added using a fine detailing brush.
The inspiration behind this design was actually a little Painted Lady butterfly wing my cousin found one summer and asked if I’d set it in resin for her (I think the rest of it must’ve been eaten by a bird!). But I chose a moth as I wanted to show how beautiful they too can be. We have so many beautiful species of moths here in the UK, and unfortunately, they’re on the decline! So I thought I’d create something where they’d always remain present :-).
**Important note; the lights were only temporarily fixed in place for the video as I didn’t want to mark the finish. I’m simply providing them with the piece as I think they look so amazing lit up. It will be the buyer’s choice whether they’d like to use them and can simply attach them with the sticky attachment pads that the manufacturer provided with them. You’ll receive 4 lights in total, a usb charger, a remote control with a dimmer, a timer, various configuration settings - they’re very simple to use. Please understand the lights are not part of my piece though, they’re simply an added extra I’m providing with it. So should the lights develop a fault, or damage occurs to the finish after attaching them, it’ll solely be the responsibility of the buyer to replace / restore the paintwork themselves.** (sorry for that boring bit! But it’s necessary info 😅❤️)
So, fancy a beautiful, unique statement piece of furniture that’ll be admired in your home? This is the perfect piece! Not only a piece of art, but a functional piece of art 😃✨
