Antique Chinoiserie Side Table

I have made this delightful table out of an original antique late 1800 - early 1900 wooden chinoiserie tea tray (before photo included within album - please excuse my arm reflections!).
As you’ll see from the before photo, the tray wasn’t in the best condition - faded, dulled, finely cracked lacquer, and the base had started to come away from the sides. So after structurally restoring it, I carefully brought the artwork and lacquer back to glory along with some of my own additions, whilst remaining sympathetic to the original artwork.
The top was then layered in resin for a glass-like shine and added durability. The legs / frame is designed and made by myself out of copper piping, to perfectly fit the table. All joints have been soldered and the table top is secured to the frame (so it won’t come off! Hehe). There is also a support bar running underneath the whole length of table top for extra support.
The copper has been buffed and not sealed, so either a shiny or tarnished (over time) look can be achieved according to desired preference.
This piece is so elegant, pretty and cool - a table that’ll be very admired :-).
Aftercare: Although resin is a durable and hard finish with a glass-like shine and feel, it isn’t glass. As with all furniture, I advise using something protective under items placed upon the surface, to protect the finish and keep it looking lovely. To clean resin, I would recommend using a light spritz of water only, onto a soft cloth.
